"A Miracle in the Making"

A Miracle in the Making

Not too long ago, I was having a rather lively conversation with my mother about “faith healing.” She does not believe in such a thing. She believes that the body heals what it can; and it allows the persistence of the things it cannot. Ho-hum… such is life.

However, I am convinced that faith healing does exist. I am a living testament to its miraculous occurrence. I have been able to help assist a number of people in healing various illnesses and injuries. Some would call that faith healing and some would call that a miracle. I believe that we all have the ability to “lay hands on” a person and offer them healing energy.

The art of Reiki asserts that the “Universal Energy” is available to all creation, all the time and we constantly tap into that energy to heal ourselves. I am thankful that we have the ability to heal. To me that, in and of itself, is a miracle.

As we look over life, there are countless ways and opportunities to be hurt, crash, fall and not make it to see another day. However, we make it up every morning and we are able to carry on with our life as if it’s business as usual. Often we forget to acknowledge the miracle of being alive.
As I was searching for the message that we need this morning, I came up with some ideas that resonated with me. I threw around some precepts and philosophies that can help up use our healing and creative powers more fully. Then, it came to me in a bumper sticker and a banner.

Believe it or not, a bumper sticker can save your life. The bumper sticker that spoke to me read, “BREATHE DEEPLY!” I thought let me relax. The more we search for something, sometimes, the more we miss the essence of the idea. Sometimes when we dissect something, we destroy it. So I took the advice the universe offered. I began to just breathe.

Right now…Take a moment. Just, “Breathe Deeply!”

I was visiting a friend’s church one day. As the speaker was ministering, I looked to the right and I noticed a banner that read, “A MIRACLE IN THE MAKING!” Hmmm, now that speaks volumes to me. What are the miracles in our life? How do we recognize that they are being performed every single day?

What is a miracle?

- Many definitions and understandings emanate from this word. In American Sign Language, the gesture for “miracle” literally looks like “wonderful work.”

- The Unabridged Dictionary defines a miracle, “an effect or event manifesting or considered a work of God!”

- A Course in Miracles author writes, “A Miracle refers to the change in mind (consciousness) that makes it possible for the Love of God to be expressed in the world.”

I talk to you today to re-mind you that your wellness is a miracle. Your Loving is a miracle (wonderful work of God.) Your Life is a miracle. All life is a miracle. You are a Miracle in the making!

Why is this important? What is the purpose of understanding the daily miracles that we are always being revealed to us?

The Purpose of Miracles

There are namely 4 major purposes for miracles in life.

1.) A Miracle is a Service. In fact, it is the highest level of service one can give to another. A single child, orphaned at birth is earnestly looking for a family to adopt him. He waits years for the right people to come along. One fine day, after being passed over by so many others, so many times before, he gets word that he is being adopted tomorrow. He is elated! He does cart-wheels across the room, excited to meet his new parents. That is a MIRACLE!

A single mother, trying desperately to raise her children. Teaching them right from wrong the best way she knows how. Feeding them spaghetti and toast for dinner. Sometimes hoping and praying they don’t need to ask for seconds because she has to give them leftovers tomorrow. She decides not to eat so they might have. One day she gets wind of a church that offers a food bank and eligible families can come once a month to partake. She cries as they hand he the boxes of food, know that she can feed her kids this month. That is a MIRACLE!

2.)Miracles are natural signs of Love expressed. A son is in the hospital suffering from a terminal illness, lies in pain, face tightened from the pain of the treatment and illness. Wakes up to see his mom and dad there, wiping his brow and kissing him gently. The healing touches and kisses dulls the pain, even if for a moment. That dullness helps him recognize that with love, patience and faith he can walk out of this hospital HEALED and WELL. That is a MIRACLE!
That expression of love allows for him to get a new cognition of healing which allows him to get better.

3.) Miracles Free Us From Fear. By undoing the fear of the unknown; we learn to TRUST Life, the Spirit of Life and that the Universe really does have our best interests at its core. We re-cognize that “All things work for the good of those who love…” We understand the fear is the mirror opposite of faith. Our thoughts of “not enough,” our thoughts of “I can’t”, all these things lead to the expression of these things in our life. As we being to see the actual miracles in our life, we really begin to KNOW that we are good. We are taken care of. We are in an abundant Universe. We need not fear!

4.) Miracles allow for the healing of sickness and deficiency and the resurrection of the dead things in our life. We see this when Jesus would help the Hebrew people understand, “Your FAITH has made you well.” He repeats this all throughout his work. He knew that it all begins with the cognition of wellness. We must know that it is our FAITH that makes us well. My faith makes me well in life. My faith makes me well in my relationships. My faith makes me well in my finances. MY FAITH MAKES ME WELL.

So in understanding the purpose of Miracles, we can then begin to see them in life. How? How do I change my perception so I re-cognize the miracles in my life? For me, it started with knowing what PROSPERITY is. It was said once, “Prosperity is having exactly what you need, when you need it.” If I am looking for a parking space, and I get one close to the front of the parking lot, closest to the grocery store. That is prosperity. If I need to put change in the parking meter and I look under the seat and find enough change for the time I need. That is prosperity. Just what I need, when I need it. If you are hungry and you look and you have only a fish and a loaf of bread, you can eat. That is Prosperity. Just what you need, when you need it. That is the Miracle.
These mini-miracles all lead to building of faith.

As we build our faith, we get more and more miracles. We see more and more prosperity. We have life more and more abundantly.

Even in the times of economic crisis. Even in time when the powers-that-be tell us that we need to be fearful of coming peril. We know that miracles come in the times of distress. I believe the current political and economic situation is the Creator’s way of saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” I believe that now is the time to strengthen our faith. Now is the time to trust! Now the Universe is say, “Oh if you would just taste and see that I am good!”

Understand my friends. Now is not the time to shrink back. We must see the Miracles in the Making. Now is the time to have the audacity to hope. Now is the time for us to serve as the Miracle to others.

Now is the time the re-cognize that even in all the troubles of life. We have aches and pains. We lose a loved one. We gain money, we lose money. We understand that it is not the circumstances that make or break us! It is you that makes you or breaks you. So I just want to encourage you to see the miracles in the making in your life. I pray that you allow your faith to make you well. I hope that you will see the prosperity that is always present in your life. I am almost done. I have a question. If you believe this message is prosperity for you; if you believe this is just what you need, when you needed it, if you see this message is the miracle, CLAP YOUR HANDS! Send energy of gratitude out into the Universe! Claim your Miracles.

I am so happy to serve you in this capacity. Thank you for your expression of love. Thank you for being a Miracle for me.
